The Mighty Lens.
Being a photographer has taken me to different countries, different cities, different settings, and I have learned to embrace the beauty of any location. In my decent into photography, event photography enlisted me to become one more photographer in its ranks. I was not thrilled by the prospect of capturing other's memories as the responsibility to capture every perfect moment overwhelmed me at times, I was able to overcome the many challenges event photography affords a novel photographer. I became a quick study, learning to shoot under different lighting conditions at moment's notice, learning to be prepared for any challenge a photo shoot could afford. I have learned to adjust and incorporate my own lighting techniques in ways that capture the perfect image, and how to adjust the proper settings to get the right image ( almost every time ). I learned to work through my reluctance and became a better photographer in the long run. I now incorporate a lot of my photography in my art and graphic design work. My experience has left an ever lasting mark in my work, and I work to continuously to keep growing in my craft.
Photographing "Polar Bear"
"Polar Bear" is an ex convict who had been out of the system for a couple of years. Like most of us who has an uncle who now is known best by his nickname he got as a kid than his real name, "Polar Bear" is no exception. We met by chance, as his local hang out spot in Denver Harbor was right outside my photography studio at the time. He would hang around the corner with his low rider bike, which he has put some serious time and money into. Being a bike enthusiast myself, we got to talking, where I learned a lot about his personal story and why they called him "Polar Bear". I asked him if I could take his portrait, and he quickly and quite excitingly agreed. One of my favorite photo shoots till this day by far, my friend, "Polar Bear".
